I tried using additonal textures on the background (grass, skyline) but it seemed like overkill, so I opted for some subtle gradient shading instead.įor the actual characters, I added shadows and highlights to each of them, and replaced some strokes/outlines with a "charcoal" brush, to make the lines look more organic and hand-drawn.

For the final stages, I added some DKNG-inspired textures over the bus windows and dirt ground. I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. (Edited to add some descriptive text about the final process, as I forgot to do this in my haste to post on time!) Taking special interest in the "kids" and "field trip" theme, my design would feature playful, kid-friendly imagery, depicting characters on a school bus trip.

“Skyline” serves as the perfect soundtrack as the clip follows Dimitri around Toronto. The clip opens with the pair meeting the members of Foreigner before cutting to a scene in which Brendan and Dimitri lead a support group of sorts dedicated to promoting the joys of peanut butter. Broken Social Scene unveiled an endearing portrait of a friendship forged in peanut butter and Foreigner in the new video for “Skyline.” The track appears on the band’s latest album, Hug of Thunder.īroken Social Scene frontman Kevin Drew directed the clip, which centers around the friendship of the band’s co-founder Brendan Canning and photographer Dimitri Karakostas.
